Littlepaper grew up in Shek Tong Tsui and studied in HKU. After graduating, she has been working as a translator. During the days of her undergraduate studies, the Centre hadn’t been established, and hiking was also not a popular activity among her peers. Having stayed in this district for many years, she hadn’t ever visited Lung Fu Shan. Littlepaper: I barely hiked back then. During my spare time I did calligraphy at home or practiced Dharma – I didn’t really know anything about ecology.Fortunately, relevant experience is not a requirement to become an ambassador, so I became one “out of nowhere”! (Laughs)
My first time hiking Lung Fu Shan; my first time going for a night hike; my first time leading a workshop; my first time holding a guided tour; my first time participating in Shinrin Yoku; my first time climbing a tree - I did all of these with the Centre! Every year there are new activities and elements; this year we’ve added historical knowledge training. There’s always something new here. The more I hike Lung Fu Shan, the more I realize its difference from other famous hiking trails in Hong Kong; it’s cleaner, and with the presence of hand-crafted amenities made by morning hikers, and also hand-written Fai Chuns on notice boards… people treat this place as their home and bond with each other, which is very unique. Littlepaper’s Recommendation: The quietness of Pik Shan Path
