November 28th, 2019, Stroke Campaign for secondary schools
First school visit of Stroke Campaign was successfully held on 28th November 2019 at Diocesan Girls' School. In this programme, we partnered with Dr Anderson Chun-On Tsang, a neurosurgeon from Queen Mary Hospital and HKU Clinical Assistant Professor. Our aim was to educate students about the common symptoms of stroke and the importance of emergency medical care. We organised a health talk for senior secondary biology students, introducing the types of stroke, relative treatment and “FAST”, which is an acronym for a preliminary way to detect stroke symptoms. We also elaborated on the Pre-hospital Stroke Assessment Program which is led by the Stroke Research and Prevention Group at Queen Mary Hospital. Lastly, we would like to express our sincere gratitude towards the support of teachers and students from Diocesan Girls' School. We look forward to seeing you in the coming services.
