Innovation and Technology Fund

Professor Yang Lu had received the Innovation and Technology Fund for the project "Laser fabrication of large scale high-performance carbon-based transistors".

This project will develop a laser-assisted method to fabricate wafer-scale, high-performance carbon-based transistors from semiconducting carbon nanotubes. It will assemble nanotubes into ordered arrays, raise the semiconducting fraction through indirect purification, and form covalent interlinks to lower intertube and contact resistance.

The Innovation and Technology Fund (ITF), administered by the Innovation and Technology Commission, aims to increase the added value, productivity and competitiveness of our economic activities. The Government hopes that, through the ITF, Hong Kong companies could be encouraged and assisted to upgrade their technological level and introduce innovative ideas to their businesses.
